Image recoloring for Red-Green dichromats with compensation range-based naturalness preservation and refined dichromacy gamut

چکیده
People with color vision deficiency (CVD) have difficulty discriminating colors, which can cause loss of chromatic contrast in the perception affected individuals. To compensate for loss, image recoloring approaches been proposed existing studies. In state-of-the-art studies, models were built based on an approximated gamut CVD CIE L*a*b* (Lab) space, significantly deviates from original gamut. addition, luminance was not considered during recoloring. Moreover, methods also present problems, such as high computational costs and insufficient naturalness preservation . this paper, we propose a novel method to that enhances through adopting channel-considered optimization model while preserving by imposing hard constraints amount changes colors. obtain better compensation effect, fit new curved surface representing dichromacy Lab space more accurately. Furthermore, discrete solver is implemented solve problem efficiently. For effective assessment, qualitative, quantitative, subjective experiments conducted, metric, called preference, evaluate enhancement comprehensively.

Key Color Priority Based Image Recoloring for Dichromats
In this paper, we present an image re-coloring algorithm for dichromats according to the key color priority. The visibility of the deficient viewers forms a priority order of the key colors and is then used to separate the re-coloring problem into a set of smaller and proper sub-problems in turn. Moreover, our approach can preserve both the color contrast and naturalness efficiently and effecti...
متن کاملRobust colour constancy in red-green dichromats
Colour discrimination has been widely studied in red-green (R-G) dichromats but the extent to which their colour constancy is affected remains unclear. This work estimated the extent of colour constancy for four normal trichromatic observers and seven R-G dichromats when viewing natural scenes under simulated daylight illuminants. Hyperspectral imaging data from natural scenes were used to gene...
متن کاملColor preference in red-green dichromats.
Around 2% of males have red-green dichromacy, which is a genetic disorder of color vision where one type of cone photoreceptor is missing. Here we investigate the color preferences of dichromats. We aim (i) to establish whether the systematic and reliable color preferences of normal trichromatic observers (e.g., preference maximum at blue, minimum at yellow-green) are affected by dichromacy and...
متن کاملColor constancy of red-green dichromats and anomalous trichromats.
Purpose. Color-vision deficiency is associated with abnormalities in color matching and color discrimination, but its impact on the ability of people to judge the constancy of surface colors under different lights (color constancy) is less clear. This work had two aims: first, to quantify the degree of color constancy in subjects with congenital red-green color deficiency; second, to test wheth...
متن کاملCalculating Medium and Image Gamut Boundaries for Gamut Mapping
The Segment Maxima Method for calculating gamut boundary descriptors of both colour reproduction media and colour images is introduced. Methods for determining the gamut boundary along a given line of mapping used by gamut mapping algorithms are then described, whereby these methods use the Gamut Boundary Descriptor obtained using the Segment Maxima Method. Throughout the article, the focus is ...
